U.S. Satellite chosen by NASA to implement Endeavor Science Teacher Certificate Program

Rye, NY — The goal is for teachers to be recognized by their state departments of education for having completed special training utilizing NASA content. The 5-year, $2.5M U.S. Satellite award will help to ensure this happens.

Developed and implemented by U.S. Satellite, hundreds of K-12 educators from 50 states and territories will apply and be awarded Endeavor fellowships. Teachers will take a custom 15+ graduate credit program as NASA's Office of Education and U.S. Satellite formally work with state officials toward its recognition. A matching program will allow for more teachers in selected states and urban centers to earn the NASA Endeavor Certificate.

The program is an expansion to the U.S. Satellite and Teachers College, Columbia University (Center for Educational Outreach and Innovation) Certificate in Applied Science Education and builds upon other professional development performed by U.S. Satellite with NASA Explorer Schools.
