U.S. Satellite launches STAGE Short-courses!

U.S. Satellite launches STAGE [Short-courses to Transform and Advance Great Educators] after years of piloting live, "Short-courses" to over 1000 teachers, primarily educators from NASA Explorer Schools. The new venture is designed to provide for teachers who require science professional development hours or graduate credit. Many states require teachers to maintain certification and STAGE is now an option. Uniquely, STAGE offers both the elementary science teacher and the seasoned high school science teacher interesting choices.

A recent survey to NASA Explorer School Educators showed that 100% would consider taking another U.S. Satellite Short-course.

"The viability of taking the live courses from home, interfacing with cutting-edge scientists, and then doing relevant assignments is very appealing," says Meghan Marrero, U.S. Satellite's Director of Curriculum.

"Teachers can implement take-away classroom material on so many science topics."

Educators will teach Earth science using Mars data, or meet their science objectives using ocean and marine science tools and resources.

Graduate credit, continuing education hours leading to Certificates in Applied Science Education are now being offered.
