The range of educational experiences are both valuable and real. The course offerings utilize the latest technologies in comprehensive STEM education. This experience with Endeavor has been the most meaningful education that I have worked at in my adult life. — M.B., Endeavor Fellow

I have been teaching 25 years and this is the first time I have taken classes and been involved in a education program where I learn something new all the time. Do you know humbling a feeling that is and how inspiring it is when I put together lessons for my students? — G.F., Endeavor Fellow

I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to science, and since becoming a Fellow, folks have started to listen to my ideas. I taught a professional development class over the summer on using the NASA design challenges in the classroom, and it went over quite well. I owe the Program so much. — C.M., Endeavor Fellow

I'm now referred to as the science department head-this is not true and I'm not paid any more money-but a lot of other teachers are now coming to me. The leadership aspect has really cemented what I'm doing and has created better opportunities for me, and also the math teachers--working out details, combining our lessons works out great. — C.W., Endeavor Fellow

STEM Education Leadership Opportunities

Change in teacher practice is the key to improving student performance in STEM area disciplines. Endeavor provides the comprehensive training educators need to effectively teach STEM content and integrate STEM pedagogical strategies (e.g., engineering design, science inquiry, math applications, instructional technology for understanding). This includes work with Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core, if desired. 100% of Endeavor educators ultimately earn a 3- or 5-course Certificate in STEM Education from Teachers College, Columbia. Each Endeavor educator becomes a champion in their school(s) and district, leading efforts for integrated STEM education and enacting change in their classroom and beyond.

Educators may participate by:

  1. Taking five (5) Endeavor courses and earning a STEM Certificate as part of a low-cost Masters Degree, or
  2. Earning a special, three (3)-course STEM Leadership Certificate in 6-9 months.

Endeavor participants may opt to complete coursework by developing electronic portfolios which also meet the portfolio requirements for earning National Board Certification.

Endeavor courses benefit all educators of STEM content, from elementary generalists to AP educators to special educators. This includes STEM coordinators, math and science coaches/supervisors, educators running or starting STEM schools or career academies, or anyone responsible for integrating math, science, technology, and engineering curriculum strands across grades K-12.
